Stock car feature winner Nick Trgovich (center, above the checkered flag) is congratulated by track owner Harry Molenaar (at right) after Trgovich's 1950 win. The track was then know as the New Schererville Speedway or sometimes simply - Molenaar's Half Mile. It would later become known as Illiana Motor Speedway. On the left, holding the checkered flag, is starter Leo Melcher, who handled the flagging duties at Illiana during the early 50's.

In the early 1950's, Hal Ruyle, Nick Trgovich and Don Oldenberg (left to right) were front running stock car drivers at Harry Molenaar's Illiana Motor Speedway   The three drivers pose after receiving some "hardware" for the winning efforts around 1952.
