of Indianapolis kicked off a new year of Chicago area racing by winning the
20-lap midget feature race on January 1, 1935 indoors at the 124th Field
Artillery Armory at 52nd Street and Cottage Grove Ave. Shaw defeated Chicago
area drivers Jimmy Snyder and Jimmy Rogers.
