ROCKFORD SPEEDWAY PHOTO SCRAPBOOK #1


Over the years, drivers have come from far and wide to compete in the annual National Short Track Championships late model stock car special at the Rockford Speedway.  In 1970, the high-banked quarter-mile paved oval saw Colorado's Wayne Stallsworth take home top honors in the 200-lap contest.  The fifth annual event saw Stallsworth and his '68 Ford Torino defeat Minnesota's Don James and Iowa speedster Ramo Stott.
