Bob Button - 1956
Bob Button of Midlothian, Ill. was the stock car champion at Raceway Park in Blue Island, Ill. in 1956.  Button in his '50 Oldsmobile won a total of 8 feature races during his title-winning year.  Button, who passed away several years ago, had the distinction of winning six straight of Raceway's special holiday 50 lappers--winning two on Labor Day, 1955, two on Memorial Day, 1956 and two more on the Fourth of July, 1956.

Oregon's Len Sutton captured a 100-lap USAC midget feature race at Chicagoland's Raceway Park on August 14, 1957, wheeling Ashley Wright's Hardwood Door Corp. "roadster" to the win.  With microphone in hand, announcer Wayne Adams gets ready to do one of his classic interviews.  Sutton, 81, passed away on December 4, 2006.
