"The Bad Cat" or "Gentleman" Bryant Tucker won three straight Soldier Field late model stock car championships.  Tucker wheeled his trusty 1957 Buick to the titles at the mammoth arena in 1960, 1961 and 1962.  Tucker is seen here in 1961 taking a break before the night's action begins.

Bryant Tucker built his "plumber's nightmare" to race in the hot rod competition at Chicago's Soldier Field in 1948.  Racing historian Gene Ingram of New Castle, Ind. supplied these couple of photos from his collection.
