(SI) - Championship Award for top driver at Sugar Island Speedway
(*) For years, Les Snow was considered the track champion at the speedway in 1950 and 1951. In 2008/2009, area historian and longtime Kankakee starter Jim Whittington did a great amount of research on racing at Kankakee and discovered that Snow was actually the champion of a traveling circuit that competed at Kankakee during those years with Roger Gilligan (1950) and Jim Landers (1951) being the actual champions.
